In a little old log cabin
That sits upon a Hill
There’s a raging fire to keep us warm
From Winter’s icy chill.

The atmosphere is friendly
Smiles come from the heart.
We share a bond that binds us
Even when apart.

A decorated Evergreen
Blinks in colored lights
And dances to the serenade
The Wind sings to the Night.

Silent snow lays a pearl white
Blanket on the ground
With thousands of tiny sparkles
Shimmering around.

Together we time travel back
Twelve thousand yesterdays
To be with all of those we loved
Before they went away.

The energy of memories
Fills each heart within the room
With each story told and song that’s sung
The air lingers with tunes.

So, come to my old log cabin
Bring songs both old and new
And Christmas in the Rockies
Is what I’ll share with you.

From the Book, “Whispering Spirits of the Soul”

Peaceful Valleys
Raging Streams
Mighty Mountains
Rainbow beams.

Sunsets on fire
Fields of Flowers
Soft Green Pastures
Warm Spring Showers.

Open Prairies.
Giant Trees
Golden Sunshine
Deep Blue Seas.

Starry Evenings
Fluffy Clouds
Foggy nights
Snow-covered Ground.

Silent Caverns
Songbirds singing
Buffalo Herds
Vines clinging.

Wild Stallions
Tall Grass waves
Dolphins swimming
Hidden caves.

Wolves howling
Eagles soaring
Otters playing
Lions roaring.

Arctic Refuge
Rocky Shores
Ancient Forests
Ocean’s Floor.

Grains of Harvest
Air we breathe
Crystal Waters
Spiders weave.

Vast wide Plains
Rolling Hills
Butterflies
Winter’s Chill.

Sunflowers
Desert Sand
Places yet untouched
By man.

Lilac Perfume
In Misty Breeze
Morning Dew
On Autumn Leaves

Secret Canyons
Sacred Land
Mother Earth
Divine Plan.

But something happened.
Something changed.
Nature somehow
Re-arranged.

Polluted Waters
Deceit and Lies
Tortured Mother
Left to die.

Treeless Forests
Cause me to quiver
No Tigers left?
That makes me shiver.

Mass extinction
Where’s the Bees?
Garbage Dumped
Into the Seas.

Bears wonder
Where to go?
The homes they had
Exist no more.

Jungles burn
Elephants plead
Mother Earth screams
As she bleeds.

Nuclear waste
Oil spills
But there’s still more places
Left to drill!

Mining; fracking
Constant wars
Toxic Skies
Genetic Corn.

Pesticides
Poison Food
Violent actions
Angry moods.

Desecration
Subjugation
Genocide
Elimination.

Blood-soaked money
Species dead
Babies dying
But no regret!

Carnage here
Casualties there
Human greed
Found everywhere.

Does anyone know
The Magic Potion
For radiation
Poured in the Ocean?

All the Creatures
Great and Small
Are looking on
In great appall.

So Mother Earth
Cries out in pain
To the Divine
And not in vain!

Dark Skies appear
With Rolling Thunder.
Is SOMEONE Speaking?
Ever wonder?

Lightning flashes
Heavy Rains
Humanity crashes.
Winds have changed…

Volcanoes blowing
Earth Quakes
Tornadoes siege
Angry Lakes.

Rising Rivers
Hurricanes
Man now thinks
Nature’s insane!

Is it funny
How Karma’s Wheel
Can turn so quick
How does it feel?

Better watch
That Darkening Sky
For SOMEONE hears
Her desperate cries.

Those Dark Skies bring
Rolling Thunder…
WHO Is Speaking?
Do you still wonder?

Many Winters ago, when all life was free.
People and Earth lived in harmony.
And the Buffalo roamed across the Great Plains.
And their numbers were many; vast herds on the range.

But then something happened, unjust and unfair.
One day someone decided, to no longer share.
The Earth and her bounty, with all those who live
Upon our Sacred Mother; they would take, but not give.

So life’s balance was altered, abundance couldn’t flow.
And the plenty that once was seemed to vanish and go.
And just like the Buffalo who once had great numbers
Many creatures were forced into Dark Slumber.

But their spirits remain and always will.
The Spirit lives on forever, it cannot be killed.
While living this life, there’s a lesson that’s true
All life is a Circle that comes back to you.

What we do to each other always comes back.
To the source of the action, it’s Universal Fact.
But it’s never too late to turn things around.
If we all work together, the lost can be found.

And there’s always the hope that things can be changed.
So to the Great Spirit, the Buffalo prays,
To once again roam the Prairies, vast herds everywhere…
All past and present creatures…
That’s the Buffalo’s prayer.

From the Book, “Whispering Spirits of the Soul”

A tired little child
Trudges down an old dirt road
Amongst thousands of people
Who are miles away from home.

A hungry little child
Who hasn’t had enough to eat.
Feels her bloated stomach
As she stumbles on her feet.

A frightened little child
Feels tears come from her eyes.
As she sees the bombs and bullets
Travel through the Sky.

A lonely little child
Searches everything she sees.
Looking for her family
Wondering where they could be.

A horrified little child
Screams out a painful sound.
As she sees the many people
Who lay dead upon the ground.

A homesick little child
Is confused and so alone.
Why was she forced to come here
And leave her only home?

A crying little child
Is grabbed by the enemy
And thrown into an open ditch
What could this ditch be?

A tattered little child
Stands in a torn up dress
Hoping for something to drink.
As the Sun sets in the West.

A wondering little child
Sees and wonders why
A soldier points his gun at her
So she begins to cry.

A silent little child
Who is alive no more.
Has had her life taken away
By a deadly thing called War.

From the Book, “Whispering Spirits of the Soul”

In the Mystical Kingdom
Where the Great Spirit reigns
And all Life is Sacred
In Nature’s Domain.

Sitting high on the bent branch
Of an ancient Oak Tree
The Owl is there pondering
Things that will be.

He watches in silence
And is fully aware
Of all things and all creatures
That pass by him there.

Nothing gets past him
For he already knows
Who’s deceitful, who’s honest
Who’s friend and who’s foe.

He’s observant and knowing
And tactful and wise
Is fond of the dark Night
And sleeps at Sunrise.

His keen mind is conscious
Of the wisdom he holds
He can see in the future
How it will unfold.

He has all the answers.
He’s explored the Unknown.
So those who are in search of
Won’t go it alone.

In his magical essence
He sits watching now.
He’s Nature’s professor
The mighty wise Owl.

From the Book, “Whispering Spirits of the Soul”

When crime and violence fill the streets
And a plot is planned for the sure defeat
Of a specific Someone in some way
Remember that Somebody pays.

When Someone decides to do a wrong
By taking that which does belong
To Someone else, along the way
There will be Someone who will pay.

When Someone hurts, destroys, or kills
Somebody else against their will
In due time there will come a day
When Someone’s chosen who will pay.

When Someone commits that wrongful act
The Clock cannot be rewound back
To those haunting seconds of that fateful day
So left are the Victims who have to pay.

When Truth’s allowed to be covered up
And Lies prevail, the outcome does
Have direct effect on the lives of they
Who’ve been unjustly told that they have to pay.

Before Someone’s sentenced for the crime
Make sure the Truth is told in time.
Not Lies that cover the Crime Scene’s Day
Or the innocent will have to pay.

Just like the man who sits in jail
Because the Justice System failed
To honor Truth and wrongly say,
“An innocent man has got to pay.”

Leonard, I hope there soon will be
A place in time where you’ll be free
‘Cause you’re one of the Victims of That Day.
For Someone else, you’ve had to pay.

You’ve paid for something that you didn’t do
Many people know this and are praying for you
And we anxiously wait for That Sacred Day
When the Cage is finally opened and the Eagle flies away…

From the Book, “Whispering Spirits of the Soul”

While standing outside in the bright Full Moon’s Light
I gazed at the Sky and admired the sight.
Of that big Moon who stood silent, so quiet and still
Her breathtaking beauty gave my heart a chill.

As I watched mesmerized at the vision so bold
My mind wandered to a place that is home
To the Wilderness Creatures who live wild and free
In the Mountains and Forests and the Open Prairies.

And my thoughts took me to a place I could see
The silhouette of a Gray Wolf on a Hill by a Tree
And I watched as he sat there ‘neath the shining Moonlight
With his nose to the Sky, howling into the Night.

His lonesome voice echoed through the Wind and the Trees
And his haunting song seeped to the soul within me.
As I watched him in awe, engulfed in the sound
The Great Spirit’s Presence was felt within and around.

The Moon was his possession; he had made her his own
She was part of his being; part of his soul.
And my body felt peaceful and my spirit was soothed.
I could have stayed there forever with the Wolf and his Moon.

And I could still hear him calling as I slowly came back
From that place I was taken near the Wolf and his pack.
Now every time I look at her, I hear that same tune.
His voice calls out to me, when I see the Wolf’s Moon.

From the Book, “Whispering Spirits of the Soul”

Bald Eagle Take-Off

On the edge of a mountain’s jagged cliff
The Majestic Bald Eagle quietly sits
In the midst of snow and rolling clouds
Encompassed in the peace she’s found.

From there she watches the vast life below
While animals run and big rivers flow.
Where long, grassy prairies wave in the Wind.
Where past Spirits reside and new life begins.

And she decides the Direction she wants to go.
And prepares to journey where the Four Winds blow.
And when she spreads her wings and looks to the Sky
The Eagle is then getting ready to fly.

Soaring high in the Heavens, so proud and so free
She glides with such smooth grace, so effortlessly.
And as she floats with the clouds in the Realms up Above
She’s close to the Creator and Grandfather Sun.

And she’s fulfilling her purpose and achieving her goals
While teaching others freedom, she’s transcending her soul.
And as the Creator watches from His painted Dusk Sky
He’s proud of His Eagle as He watches her fly.

And He’s proud of His people when they soar through their fears
Discover their purpose; facing all types of mirrors.
For that transcends them, like Eagle; guides their soul through the Flight
Of their Unabridged Journey that leads them to His Light.

So, decide the Direction you want to go.
And prepare to journey where the Four Winds blow.
And spread your wings
And look to the Sky
And just like the Eagle
Get ready to fly…

From the Book, “Whispering Spirits of the Soul”

September 11, 2001. Blue Skies in New York City.
Someone knew the morning air, would bring darkness and pity.
They knew the planes were on the way, their destinations, fated…
WHO really knew Americans were so targeted and hated?

Yet one by one, each plane (?) did crash. Two now had hit the Towers.
The World was getting ready to send condolences and flowers…
And then, two more (?) came crashing down, leaving most in shock.
Americans stood hopeless; watching…for someone had stopped our clock.

What can one do as buildings melt and fall from fiery blasts
With helpless people in them, who are doomed to breathe their last?
Many would hit their knees and pray for all that had been lost.
And some would never be the same. How much did that day cost?

We’ll all remember that fated day, throughout the coming years.
And many unanswered questions will be mixed with grief and tears.
How could these things have happened? When will the bloodshed end?
How many loved ones will be lost? How many of our friends?

Will Humankind ever awaken, from our deep, unconscious sleep?
When will we realize it’s time to stop making mothers weep?
For the loss of their sweet children, it happens every day.
Every time a life is taken, some mother’s heart will break…

Will we learn to heed the call after watching those Towers fall?
What medals have we truly earned since those jets have crashed and burned?
What Lessons are there yet to teach, to people living out of reach?
Out of touch, without a clue, of other people’s points of view?

There’s danger in not knowing Truth, ignorance; not bliss.
So to hide one’s head down in the sand will not take care of this.
Some people do not want to know, they feel they’ll be protected
As if remaining in denial somehow, will leave them unaffected.

But running for cover to their box, will not help them escape.
Until they face those fears inside, illusion won’t keep them safe.
No matter how tight they close the lid, the box can still be shattered.
Anytime and anyplace by Truth, their convenience will not matter…

So at what time will the madness end and sanity come back again?
Who has the answers that make sense, to those on ALL SIDES of the fence?
And who knows what the future holds, since the date of 9-11?
I wonder…how many lost that day guard the Gates of Heaven?

Have you listened to the lonely Wind
Blow sadly through the Trees?
Or watched the lonesome Tide roll in
From out beyond the Seas?

Have you ever seen lone Seagulls fly
Across the Ocean’s waves?
Or watched the Shadows slowly fall
Upon a dear Friend’s Grave?

Have you ever walked alone in a Storm
And stood in the pouring Rain?
Did the tears that fell from the Sky Above
Hide your tears of pain?

Have you ever sat in the Night and cried
In a room that was empty and cold?
And wished you had someone to love?
Have you ever been alone?
